Re: current LMO processing time Alberta???

Hi guys,

I have just recieved a positive LMO.
It has taken 11 weeks and 3 days.

I'm now going to fight across the border (its black friday) to get my TWP.

Hi,

I have just spoken to the office that processes the LMO's in Edmonton and they told me at the moment current processing time is a minimum of 10 weeks.
I am currently on 9 weeks and 3 days of hellish waiting so hopefully Im going to hear something positive soon.(Fingers Crossed)!

I am at 9 weeks and 4 days, it seems like a lifetime...

Hopefully there is good news for us both in the next couple of weeks...

What date did you application get sent off?

September 23. We received the file reference number on October 13 and that said that they had received the application on September 27.

They are currently processing files from September 14th so hopefully we both wont have long to wait. The waiting is just the worst thing ever!

Wow that really is a long time! Has your employer called HRSDC asking about the status of the application? If not, I think they should.

Re: current LMO processing time Alberta???

The employer has just been told to expect a decision in 2 weeks, so 16 weeks wait in total if this is correct, and there are no further delays because of Christmas etc... :fingerscrossed:

WOW! I've never heard of 16 weeks before..
However I was told last week by someone who I now know in CIC that processing priority is now being placed with 'spousal sponsorship'.. not sure why.

I guess i'm in for a long wait then, my LMO application was only sent off 7 weeks ago and i need to wait until i get a yes from the Alberta apprenticeship board for my journeyman (HGV mechanic) before my LMO can be complete.

Re: current LMO processing time Alberta???

I spoke with The LMO people yesterday and the current processing time is around 10-11 weeks. Its not 10 weeks from application but 10 weeks from receipt of application. so I reckon total time of 14-15 weeks. They are currently dealing with files from the 4th October.

Got an answer to my LMO application today but unfortunately is was not the answer I was looking for!
The company are going to re-apply but it means another agonising 10-12 week wait. Is it common for LMO's to be rejected and does it make it easier or harder to get approval the 2nd time?
