The first time i flew into Bombay was 88 and i was with one of Bhagwan Rajneeshs Punatics, who insisted we fly straight away to Pune so she could get her fix of therapy and not stay 10 minutes in the city.I thought OK no problem I can always come back.We flew on Air Vyjadoot in what looked a second hand ex RAF transport complete with Rolls Royce propeller engines. It seated 20 passengers i think. It was noisy and stunk of petrol and curry. It also rattled and most of the seats were loose and the seat belt didn't work either. However, the trusty RR engines did the job and 45 minutes later Pune appeared.Stayed in a flop house hotel across from the market. She of course rushed off to the Ashram and i was left on my own in the room.I thought right breakfast. What to order ? I'm in India now.Right take your time and gently ease your way in to this place.I ordered egg chips and beans with tea and toast. 20 minutes later it arrived. All on separate plates and i have never stopped laughing since ! The magic of India.

Think i saw that plane on a Indiana Jones film!
Even a simple thing like ordering breakfast can be a lottery in India.
That is indeed the one thing i really love about India......so many everyday tasks can become an adventure, like you say PJ...The Magic of India.

Eight Fingered Eddie passed away yesterday in a hospital in Mapsua. He was 86 years old. I met him a quite a few times in Anjuna and no doubt some of you did over the years. He was one of the original travellers that appeared in the late 60s and early 70s in Calingute before they took up residence in Anjuna.I can only say that he was a kind and considerate person at all times.
