hello all
havent been on this site for a while now, and after sifting through many of the threads its quite obvious that tensions are running high in relation to property issues etc
while im not in that same predicament i do sympathise with all on here who are,
that aside i also cannot believe the amount of bigotted/bordering on the racist
remarks and comments and statements being made against others, not just on this thread but on others aswell
you all must not forget that each and every one of us has the right to protest and the right to free speech, that is why wars are waged and fought in the world ,or so we are led to believe,"we are going to liberate iraq" springs to mind,,do you really believe that has happened ???? i think not
you may or may not agree with what people have to say but thats what makes a democracy,in many parts of the world that right is not available to citizens and we all know what goes on in those such regions
what you are seeing in the uk is our rights and freedom slowing being eroded away due to our police/nanny state taking them away under the guise of terrorism, and then our very own goverment telling us thats its necessary to be fighting these wars to protect our citizens in the uk,,,its complete twoddle,,,,this fella who wants to march through this town has every right to do so,i i do not agree with thousands of innocent women and children being bombed and killed on a daily basis in the middle east,, i also do not agree with most of our mainstream politicians etc but i have to watch and listen to them every day of the year its quite hard not to hear/.see them
tempers may be at boiling point over such issues but this is not the place to be airing bigotted views and remarks etc,if you feel so strongly organise your own march/protest and rally round and gather support from anyone you can,,after all this fella is looking for media coverage and i must say hes doing very well at the moment in getting it,,its getting more coverage in the uk than the thousands of innocent civilians being killed on a daily basis in war torn regions
mass protest always works well at highlighting peoples disenchantment at whats happening
but dont forget a gathering of more than 2 people in the uk is deemed a threat under anti-terrorism laws and you will be kettled or dispursed
in reply to the previous reply you sound more like george dubya bush with your comment "IF YOUR NOT FOR US YOURE AGAINST US "
wake up and realise there is a war, its not in iraq afghanistan or even wooton bassett its on your mind
oh and happy new year to all on the site

Dear Renegade
If you are reading you may wish to note that although 'Free speech' is deemed a right under the Human Rights Act, it is only deemed such a right if it does not break the law of the UK.
Under The Public Order Act it is an offence under Section 5 to behave in a manner 'likely to cause harrassment alarm or distress to any person'. I would say that this males behaviour would at least meet the criteria of committing this offence.
Under the same act section 4 - it is an offence to behave in a manner likely to cause harrassment alarm and distress which is likly to result in violence by or to any person'. In this case the very location of the protest and its message of the same gives high risk to ensuing violence or large disorder.
Furthermore both offences are considered as 'aggravated' when there is a likelihood or intention to incite racial hatred. The very message of this protest is high racially motivated and inciteful.
Under the Terrorism Act it is unlawful for a prescribed organisation to march, protest or recruit. As this organisation is now a prescribed organisation, their protest amounts to the commission of a criminal offence.
Of course there is always the old common law offence of 'conduct likley to cause a breach of the peace' - certainly applicable in these circumstances !!
I do believe that under the Human Rights Act, these factors would negate this extremists right to free speech !
By the way, I think you will find that 'a gathering of two or more people' does not constitute an illegal act in itself, there are several other criteria which must be met before it becomes an unlawful assembly !
Hope for the site readers I have cleared up some ambiguities nin Renegade's post.
Dread - going legal !

He also had a tantrum here some years back. Part of the house where I am staying goes back to 1500 and had very low cielings. Sir Kingsley (as the Herald called him) is pretty tall and walked into one and knocked himself out whilst a house guest. The following week he senr a solicitors letter threatening to sue! Nothing came of it though.

Latest in commonsense. On the Kingfisher flight from London to-day, people had got through to the departure lounge before being asked if they had been out of India for 2 months. You would have thought they would have asked when you arrived at the airport.
Dabolim now has a Refusal Lounge - wonder how much it costs to get out
of there!
