My other question if in reverse, what would Mr Modi be able to do about any minorities in UK??
#2238
OK so I guessed that a bit wrong.
The situation started to get cloudy when the HCI issued that press release about biometrics starting when the visa centres got the equipment.
Since Guess B was wrong I'll revert to Guess A:
Biometrics were supposed to start and so were VoAs for China, France, UK and three more countries (if not 150 countries).
The massive infighting between MEA MHA and Security services (or some other nastier chauvinist fight) must still be on-going at 'the Centre' - thus wrong-footing both VFS and the Indian High Commission.
Yeah - Guess A I reckon.

Bipat its Christian groups here in the UK upset about their co-religionists in India feeling threatened, churches being attacked and of course the nun being raped in Kolkotta.Cameron could do something through the Foreign Office making representations, especially after President Obama raised the issue 4 weeks ago about religious intolerance coming to the fore in India. But then again you being a born again Hindu with a house shrine to the Gujarati dwarf would not see that.Love is blind etc...Do you sleep with his picture under your pillow ?

I am not a "born again" anything.
India is a Hindu majority country, what have you got against that??
Yes there have been atrocities in some areas of the country, note some areas, it is not general. There is no excuse and it is against the law. I presume you heard the PM's speech condemning this??
There are similar atrocities in UK, Muslims have been murdered and houses and Mosques burned. Minorities are used to continual insults.
One difference is the Policing in India is dire, it is a disgrace and must be improved. (A great pity Kiran Bedi did not win the Delhi CM post.)
I am not follower of right -wing politics but tell me would you rather have the corrupt Congress party still in power? Do you not believe in democracy?
PM Modi has already done quite a lot to improve things, do you not want that??????

I see the taxi mafia are opposed to the digital meters being installed. Not one Goan government has had the courage to stand up to them.If one single organisation in Goa can be said to have ruined tourism its the taxi mafia....

Today, on a news channel, ' Indian government forces US to crack the whip.'
Refers to the racial cop who forced Indian grandfather to the ground. Cop has been indicted.
Same channel, Salman Khan records statement in thirteen years old hit and run case. Cracking whip?

We had minority groups complaining in the UK, some time back. Te Race Relations Act. The first board consisted of two Asian members and one Brit.

In the south the actual drivers get very little, all fares go to the better off taxi owners who have a fleet, and pay the drivers a wage. Is it the same in the north?
In Karwar there are no taxis for town use, only rickshaws, they work so hard and grateful for even 5 rupee tip.
