Re: In To-day's Newspapers
There's an interesting article in the Goan Voice dated 29th March.
A British woman who had flown to Goa via Monarch Airways and was booked to take her return flight via Thompson Airways was made to pay a immigration official £100 to be allowed to board her return flight. Apparently there is some rule which states that passengers on Charter flights must use the same airline carrier for inward and outward journeys. A bit of a worry as it is not uncommon for independent travel agents to sell a package tour with different airlines for the two journeys. Another scam to be aware of ! Dread - dreadful business ! x |
Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Yes i know about this rule,Had first hand experience,
We missed a flight out to Goa once and lost a week of our holidays because we had to fly out with the same airline and return with the same.If it hadn't been for this silly rule we could have been on a flight the next day from Gatwick with Monach and flew back on our original flight.Instead we had to re-book the flights both ways again.I think this ruling is only with Charters though GC:sneaky: big scam me thinks:thumbdown: |
Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Definitely only Charters, GC, wheich makes it even dafter. The arguement that its to protect sheduled airlines (which is often given) is total balls as they are better and cheaper anyway most of the time and even the wimps who cant face Bombay now have Qatar as an alternative, innit?

Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Yes im going to try Qatar after this visit, they are flying out from Manchester now which is our nearest aiport. They took the Birmingham flights off in 2008 and there will be no more charters our of East Midlands after this season finishes. Charters for next year are only out of Manchester and Gatwick

Not sure that the stats look right, but what bothered me was:
that is typical of the worst sort of attitude from officials** here - if people have the right visas and are "following all regulations" why should his department want to do anything??? [I] AndyD 8-)# And so the lawlessness breeds, the dissent unravels, and corruption and criminality become the norm. Dread - lamenting x |

Am I being dumb, (not the first time I hear) why does a terrorist ie. Headley. Need to be in a country more than six months to plot a bombing, or multiple bombing. I can't see any adverse effects to his, their mission. But the Americans let him on a plane knowing he is a suspicious character, to see if he is a bomber perhaps:confused: |
