Anyway i don't like to be misunderstood so just thought i'd clarify to you Douglas that i do genuinely and sincerely appreciate all the time and energy you've put into answering my own and many other BE members Qs/offering advice and for being a much needed catylist for some of us to question more deeply the many issues and problems to consider surrounding the FN property saga in Goa (myself ofcourse included as formally in and out of denial, and still prone to bouts of confusion/mental melt down)!

More importantly, i'm very grateful to you Douglas for your ability to separate the emotions (of those of us caught up in the saga) from the reality and for offering viable solutions based on your indepth research of the laws and how these relate to the current situation in Goa, and i'm also very grateful to all the other contributors on this site including Remy, Noni, Tony and others who have also shared much useful information and food for thought.

Anyway sorry if this has lapsed into an Oscars winner style speech (but it is sincerely meant).

Kind Regards to All - TDK:)

AHHHHH, Your a real sweetie.

This thread was started by Rosemary who wanted to meet/talk to others who HAVE purchased through Acron, to chat about things before meeting up when the apartments are finished.
As for special privileges god knows what your talking about and your thread Buyers Beware why would anyone including the Acronites (as you call them)what to challenge anything you've said, people can only read and make up their OWN MINDS TO DO WHATS BEST FOR THEM.

By the way hows Villa Maria coming on? all sorted with tiles and deco, if your not maybe Douglas could give advise, bye

Hi Susan,
Can you tell me if you have your Sale Deeds registered? and where does it say what VISA you could have used to register your deeds legally if you had done the 183 days (I know it is hyperthetical at the moment as the register is closed) I have not seen it in black and white if the tourist visa was legal.
Thanks.

Hi all,

Douglas is clearly the most prolific and highly decorated of all, so i will add it to my long list of accomplishments which now reads -

The most prolific contributor -the most deluded- a schizophrenic - a white night - a seeker of truth - a slayer of dragons- a rescuer of damsels -a destroyer of cults - a scrutiniser of contracts - an exposer of myths -a clearer of smoke and mirrors - a sweeper up of bullshit

I have read your threads and those of Douglas in reply. Why won't you tell us if you have actually bought your Apartment/Villa - meaning having a registered Sale Deed, or have a Lease? Why is it that the Acron people will not answer questions put to them? If you have a lease, then you have a lease. If you have a Sale Deed you have a sale Deed. I know it is your money, but please state which position you are in with regard to your purchase. Have you received a letter from the Directorate of Enforcement? Have you a 5 year x visa? Have you been able to renew a longer term visa. These are items, which my wife and I were not aware of when we bought our Deam home in Goa. Please be the only one of the Acron people who will let us know exactly where they stand?

All the best old man:o

Have rread this site with interest. Why is it the only site, where the threadies only give good statements about acron, who may be honest and reputable builders, but these purchasers argue so much, then when challenged are silent. Is it Acron themselves who are challenging this douglas fellow whoever he is? I have been told that you can't register deeds at the moment and after 5 years have to do 182 days. Is this the case?

GOA TO CONFISCATE PROPERTY BOUGHT BY FOREIGNERS ON TOURIST VISA
PANAJI: CONTINUING ITS DRIVE TO TACKLE THE PROBLEM OF FOREIGNERS ON TOURIST VISA ILLEGALLY BUYING PROPERTY and running business in the State, the Goa Government on Friday decided to initiate a series of steips, including confiscating the land purchased by such foreigners, wherever it is established that the deal violated the provisions of the Foreign Exchangement Management Act, 1999 (FEMA)

Chief Secretary JP Singh told THE HINDU on Saturday that the Government had taken the issue seriously as it had "clinching evidence" of several deals struck by foreigners violating the provisions of FEMA. The Government would take disciplinary action against sub-registrars who were responsible for registering such property. Mr. Singh said.

The Government had directed the sub-registrars to forward details about land deals during last three years to the Home Dept.

and there were follow up articles and letters pointing out that they had no powers to confiscate property, and that sub-registrars had a legal duty to register all properly prepared documents.
This is very old stuff which has been aired before, and I wonder why you feel it is necessary to post it again.
