In France the MT is more than someone you go to just because you are not well They are more like the British GPs of my youth They manage the patient their conditions medication etc sign post other agencies etc and certainly ours has been in the village for a long time and is treating people that he saw as babies Both he and his holiday relief also have skills and do things that a Brit GP would no longer touch Eg I have had my ears syringed and also a trapped nerve released by some deft manipulation without having to be referred elsewhere

As LVC says. I suppose continuity of care is a big part of it. Somebody who has a complex "medical history" can go to their MT who knows their history and can check their records, see what medications they're on now and what they've been on in the past and prescribe based on that. A pharmacist or hospital doctor won't have that info, they can only treat what they see, more or less in isolation...

It depends on what info is required.
Health professionals can access information from your carte vitale and the pharmacist can access your medication history from their computer records.
However, this does not answer the OP's question.

The CV doesn't contain medical history though, just admin stuff?

I think the OP has wandered off...

I think the OP has wandered off...
My pharmacist (daughter's schoolfriend's father) can see from my CV what medicines I've been prescribed in the past - he can guess what ailments I've had over the years, and, en passant, which pharmacist dispensed the medicines if it wasn't him. Which is why I usually stay faithful to him for medicines and go to a cheaper pharmacie for parapharmaceuticals. That's as may be....
Back on topic, the OP last posted 2 days ago, so hopefully hasn't quite left the building...
She mentioned "we", and this might be an important factor in her plans if her husband will be able to work in France. If the "we" means a partner, then she must be aware that France isn't a partner-friendly country and that the couple will be considered as two separate individuals in all things Administrative/Legal/Social/Fiscal.
