No i applied through visa application centre and they checked all the douments and took a colour copy of all the documents. and returned all the original documents back. dont know you are sending documents directly to HMPO liverpool uk or submitting in local uk visa application centre.
But the douments i sent directly to visa application centre liverpool i sent original and colour photo copy.
the rule of tumb is if your are applying though visa application centre you will need to talk all the original and colour photo copy they will take colour photocopy and return all the original back to you.
secondly according to international laws you can not send you original passport by post as far as i know.

Re: Delays in first passport for child born overseas
Hi guys. I'm a Brit and my wife is Mozambican. Our baby was born in Mozambique but we are applying for her passport from Seychelles were I am currently working and we are resident. The process started 8 weeks ago immediately after her birth and I provided additional documents 4 weeks ago which were acknowledged by Durham. My name as the father is repeated on many of the documents that we sent including the Mozambican ID and the Birth Certificate. They also have my original BC showing I was born in the UK.
I have two questions:
1. Anybody have any idea of the timeline for such a case?
2. Is an interview obligatory for a 2 month old child? From what I have heard they do not do interviews in Seychelles so it could mean at least a 5 hour flight for us and a huge expense?
Any info or advice is very welcome.

Interviews are not mandatory. In fact they are very rare. If they were to request an interview it would likely be via Skype.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Given that I provided 19 documents in original format all translated by a sworn translator, I'm hoping things will move quickly. I can only hope! It's welcome information about the interview because it's not that easy flying around with babe-in-arms. Cheers.

Hey guys it bein 13months and 3weeks since the application was made from Bangladesh. Hmpo keep saying "examination process"
no request for documents, no interview date just the same standard reply.
Is the any steps we can take against passport office to find out what's going on with the application?
