Have been having a bit of a "freak out" regarding finally moving to Canada and was wondering why you emigrated to Canada, as opposed to the US, Australia, New Zealand, Outer Mongolia
etc.
Was it because you had family in Canada, got a Job, got a better paid job, the weather, a bigger house or just thought "why not".
Just curious to know why you emigrated.

Change of scenery, why not?
I have a sister in Australia and her two adult sons so more connections there but it doesn't appeal. Canada just seemed right!
Time will tell if it was the right choice and if it's not we'll move on

Our reasons for chosing Canada were: The other English-speaking options, aka Oz and NZ, felt too far away. US was never an option - fun to visit, but couldn't imagine living there. We had been to Canada before and liked it. Our respective industries were faring better than in the UK with more opportunities.
Other reasons included a perverse love of North American food (ribs, wings, the works!) a more outdoorsy lifestyle and relaxed way of life and the climate - proper winters and summers. Also the proximity to the States for holidays and the big sports focus (missing football though!)
So far so good for us! Ask me this time next year and it might be a different story though...

It was either Canada or France. Canada seemed a great idea at the time
I should have dodged the fight and got the ferry instead.

We should just change the name of this country to France II.....ship all the Canadians out, bring a bit of culture in, and some bakers, and some cheesy people, get ride of that mongrel weird plastic french they speak and bring in some proper Oh la la's....then I wouldn't have to change job, sell my home and stick the dog on another flight...
