If your dog is going Cargo then no it will not be waiting with prams etc however if coming as hand luggage as mine did yes that is their waiting area just left their may I add, as most people have said on here try not to stress to much I was nearly grey coming out here worrying about my dog in flight and sorting everything in Uk so we could fly, however it was very straightforward and in hindsight a lot easier than initially expected good luck................

Can I just really stress the importance of taking your meds with you! Please do. I didn't and Air Canada sent my bags off somewhere all by themselves for three weeks! All will be well. Do Not get in a state. Best of luck.

Well maybe someone was having us on, but that is where our dog (with another 2 dogs) was waiting for us. It might of been because we have spent 2 hours at the immigration. And he did travel in the cargo. I can not see how we would of picked him up if we left to get the car first as that is across the road in another building

I 'think' the dog question changes with each flight and every airport. In my time I have had three cats whizzing round in separate cages on the baggage carrousel with the bags to my horror, whilst the dog has been on a forty minute drive in another direction, plus all changes since. What Must Be Borne In Mind....nobody sticks the animal on the flight in order to give it a miserable time, the people you pay don't ultimately want to upset the animal. It will arrive, as will you...and if anyone is going to suffer it will be YOU the owner in stress. Give the animal a breather and it will remember nothing....you on the other hand might be pale and shaking for years to come!

Hi,
I cannot imagine how excited you must be at the thought of landing in Calgary. Don't worry about TWP issuance, it's a breeze. You have a SINP Nomination? or LMO? The immigration officials cannot be more than helpful and will process your application efficiently as long as you have everything to hand. When you depart the plane you will be utterly exhausted especially if you cannot sleep the long plane journey. It's a bit of a walk through the terminal to collect your baggage. You will notice the decor!! You will follow the signs for arrivals and then be directed into a large open area where two sections for Canadian residents and non-residents are separated. You will queue up (few min) and explain to the CBSA officer your circumstances. He/she will direct you through to the immigration section and there you queue up again (few more mins) and wait to be called. My family and I have been through the process twice in the past 18 months. Some of the officials can be very direct and cautious however if you have everything in order, you should expect no delays and a wonderful welcome. Be sure to check the details of your TWP. Our first TWP was only issued for 9 months. Our second, for 2 years. I am not sure what criteria is used to decide TWP expiration.
My advice is to stay overnight in Calgary, especially if you are travelling with children or animals. Its a long drive to Saskatoon. 6-6.5 hours in good conditions and the raods here are not good at the moment, so you could easily add another 1-2 hours. Check highway conditions before you travel. We live about half way.
Wishing you the very best of luck. Saskatoon is a beautiful city and I am sure you will settle there easily.

We're coming over on a SINP Nomination. Thanks for your good advice, I have to admit, I feel a lot easier now that I have had responses like yours and many others. We have been to Saskatoon many times and have a lot of friends there, so I'm pretty sure we will settle ok. Our plan is to stay in a hotel the night we arrive as my boss is driving from S'toon to come and drive us back. He will stay the night with us too. He's been absolutely great I have to admit.
I am not looking forward to winter driving, and if I have to be truthful, that is the only thing that worries me about moving to Canada.. but hey, I will get used to it

With regards to the papers I present at the POE, I've been told 2 different things, 1 was to just show the SINP nomination letter, the letter of support from SINP, the job offer and job description, and 2 was all of the afore mentioned plus work permit application forms, proof of funds, work experience, photos, certificates and more.... what did you present??
Roll on 5th December when were up in that big bird and I don't have to hassle anyone with questions!!!

Many thanks
