Health tourism is something else. It is people deliberately travelling to the UK for elective surgery or other treatment.
Emergency treatment is free for ANYONE.

AS for patients without visitors, first of all i wonder about the source of your information (again) where is the evidence for this? Secondly you are missing the point, if visitors to hospitals were as stringent about cleanliness as they rightly expect staff to be then the bugs wouldn't be so prevalent and hence spread.
i havent burnt you at a stake for your attempt at humour- i just didnt realise it was meant to be funny
I ask you again where is your evidence for your staement that the nhs is worse than it was? if its your impression then say it is merely an impression, thats fine its your opinion but please dont state it as a fact

Sigh, yer not just being argumentative now are you, technician {my word} radiologist your word, gimme a break fella...
Did someone compare X-Ray with PET scans ? wanna read it again ???
If you'd take notice I said they did X-rays AND a PET scan at the Alexandre.
So your explanation of the differences is redundant...
Gawd I've not got to go and look the comment up about patients getting MRSA when they'd not had any visitors, gimme a break, it's a matter of recorded fact, you do the Google, it's there, believe me...
What's that about visitors being to blame ??? I know you won't want to believe this but when I was visiting one of my mates in hospital, I read the sign saying don't sit on the bed, so I didn't... 20 minutes later the junior Dr came round to check my mate out, and... guess what... she sat on his bed, for the life of me that's true...
Where are we up to in all this, the NHS supporters blaming the visitors {who else} and the visitors saying the hospitals aren't clean enough, I'm not into that, I don't take sides on it as both can be at fault, so I'm not going to argue the toss with you on that. If you think it's all down to the visitors well fine, that's your prerogative... and I don't have a problem with it at all.
As far as the burning at the stake, well, the fascist attitudes that have been shown in here, the comments on electrodes, testicles, masturbating, slights on my character from folks who wouldn't even know me on the Streets, indicate the lynch mob mentality that prevailed in the Southern States, where if you didn't like someone {or in my case their sense of ironic humour} they would bay for your blood.
Maybe you didn't particularly pay a leading role, maybe you didn't play any role at all, but when hatred and abuse is displayed as it has been in here then silence and acceptance of it condones it.
Folks who can't tolerate an opinion or a sense of humour that isn't their own harbour neo fascist in attitudes, seeking to impose their values through intimidation, ridicule or character assassination of others, these are dangerous people.
Here's the deal, the ball belongs to Bitch Cassidy et-al, they can play with it, I've had enough abuse from them, so I'll bow out and leave you all to it...
Might just Lurk though to see who they turn on next, believe me that's how folks like Bitch work... you can have him...
I wonder who they'll turn on next with their venomous attitudes, you'd all better be careful when you hand your Homework in, it will be scrutinized buy these self appointed gobsytes...
