Well I am off to my trailer this weekend. Looks like the weather is with us here in Ontario. Light the campfire, roast a few marshmellows(now i have been shown how to actually do that properly). A few beers and soak up the sun. Steaks on the a BBQ.
Oh yes! and fight off the blasted mossies!
check out a few yard sales. I love a bargain!

We went to the beach at Grand Bend this weekend. We decided to go at about 2pm on Saturday. It took us just under an hour to get there driving on wide, traffic-free, country roads from here in the north of the city. Spent a couple of hours relaxing as the kids played in the sand and Tom took a swim in the lake and arrived back by 6pm. Felt like we were on a summer holiday for the afternoon.

Our trailer is in Bobgaygeon. I had a wonderful weekend. Sunday was great fun as we woke early and went for a lovely walk by the lake.We then went back to the trailer to have breakfast on the BBQ. We were under the awning when suddenly the storm hit us. We were ok as we had the protection. But wow! what a storm!
Then the skies cleared and the rest of the day was wonderful. Got a little too much sun though.
i am glad you had a good weekend. Doesn't it refresh you when you get a chance to relax this way? Ready to face work again!
take care

Maybe that's why peole don't need the same vacation time as the UK. You can simply do more with your time off.

This is very true. At summer though, grand bend gets really packed, and there seems to be the equivalent of chavs, with their loud music and loud cars.
We went there last summer, stayed a while and left. Noticed you are in london ont, been down to st thomas yet?

I haven't been to St.Thomas yet. Tom has but he wasn't overly impressed. Where abouts are you?

We spent all of Saturday gardening. Not just a bit of gentle pruning either. We were re-grading paths, digging up trees etc. It was damn hard work in that heat. Talk about sweaty! We took a short break to go food shopping: people were moving away from us in the supermarket.
Yesterday was essentially domestic chores.
Looks like today will hit 37 degrees. We have already hauled the AC up to the bedroom. I wasn't expecting to need it so early in the summer.

I'm resisting turning on the AC for as long as humanly possible. The temperature in my bedroom hit 27 last night. Fortunately I just about managed with the window open and just covering myself with a sheet.
Hopefully I'll be able to manage just with an open window for a few more nights. Have to say that the basement is pure bliss though! Nice and cool

. I'm tempted to move to my den in the basement. AC is OK, if you don't mind sleeping next to a jet engine.

Does anyone else here go camping or have a trailer?
Maybe we could all arrange a brit campers meetup! A few beers around the campfire and some marshmellows. no songs though, unless you made it through canadian idol!

I'm getting into sad-git territory here, I think.
