Re: WestJet flights to London Gatwick
I don't think they are being refurbished - I think they are brand new aircraft. I was on one from YVR-LHR earlier on this year and it wasn't too bad - definitely a nicer experience than the BA 747 with their shabby cabins (though I understand that they are refreshing these cabins now).

I'm just over 5' and found the AC flight more cramped with the entertainment thing placed in a very annoying position on the arm rest so I kept knocking it.

I love Gatwick, especially when flying out. You meet some really funny people in the bar who are off on their holidays to Spain or Greece. Plus, it saves me a fortune not not having to shop in the posh shops in Heathrow. And my nan's sister only lives 30mins away.

I think it depends where you're travelling on to. I'm using goinig to North East London so I just sit on the Piccadilly line forever and then switch to the Victoria line. LGW is a hassle plus really expensive to get to the same place.

You can pick up a new Spurs shirt and avoid VAT.
Don't get that anywhere else.

Nutty Graham used to get football shirts and sell them in the pub. Thinking back, i'm not sure he added VAT to his prices.

Personally I think all Canadian airlines are pretty good really, at least compared to American airlines. Used Air Canada, Westjet and Air Transat and I can't remember any major issue. Well, except for when that lunatic shot up VT and the only channel that worked on the TV was Fox News. Even turning it off didn't help because I couldn't turn them all off. 5 hours of endless bullshit about some crazy person related by a crazy person.
I think BA may stop flying to Calgary when Westjet start doing this flight, they apparently don't make much money out of it. And if you want to go on a 767, makes more sense to go on Westjet. I doubt BA would use one of their 787s.

Depends how you define economy. Delta has their Delta Comfort which is really just a nicer economy seat and is in the main cabin, just better leg room but not a business or premium class seat by any means.
On the 777-200LR they give you 35" pitch vs 31-32 in main cabin and 78" in premium.
Also offered on the
777-200ER
767-400ER (76D)
767-300 has 35" or 34" depending on specific type.
747-400
A330-300
A330-200
All info from Delta website.
As for westjet, I could only find the introductory fare leaving Canada, coming back none to be found, but I didn't check every possible date, just random weeks.
