We've been here 17 months now -and the first year can be quite up and down, to say the least. We've turned a corner, and I just wanted to wish you well. I hope things smooth out for you - keep reading and posting on here - all sorts of info that you never knew you needed crops up daily
Regards.

6 months is about right, I remember driving into Calgary one early morning for a test with the sun just coming up over the horizon reflecting a red/orange colour on the tall glass buildings, clear blue sky with all the city light looked awesome, like out of a movie, not quite as good as manchester on a rainy grey morning along deansgate..... yeah right !

One of the best things I have ever seen!
One of these days I will have to try to get a picture of it, but I doubt my photography skills are up to it.

We should be in Calgary March 09, looking forward to it. What job have you been offered? do you have a family that will be going with you and have you looked at areas to live?

Hi all,
we too are moving to Calgary (actually Okotoks, just outside Calgary). Hopefully if all goes well, beginning of Jan.
Tracey the wife has WP as early childhood educator and I have managed to secure a job as a apprentice plumber.
With all these folks going to Calgary next year, how about arranging a meet up????? Let me know

Cheers to you all,
Carl

Hello all
Thought i would just say a quick hello.
I am moving to Calgary at the end of January (09). I am moving as an expat with my company (Shell). I might only be there a year and a half before i move again to Houston.
I am currently working in London surrounded by all my friends and family and have a fairly active lifestyle. I am hoping that it is easy enough for me to meet people when I get there (am coming on my own).
I wakeboard and am learning to snowboard so hope that I can join some clubs. I am not sure what the best way to meet people is otherwise. Any recommendations?
