Which person are you referring to - Jimmy or Scotty?
Both refer to looking at Living in Oakville or Burlington.. and others mentioned travelling on the 407 / going into TO... hence why I suggested it. Oh well, my bad.
If the job is in Brampton then they could look at Orangeville / Kitchener / Georgetown or even Guelph - there's a direct transit link from all of them to Brampton.

Oh yes, they all do. It's one of those board specific things; you never meet anyone in real life who wants to live in Oakville or Burlington or anyone who knows whether or not they have winter tyres and yet everyone here does both. Sorry if I've confused the Oakville aspirants.

Re: Toronto utility bills
The commute for us would be from Burlington/Oakville to the Western part of Mississauga, near Meadowvale West. From Burlington, it doesn't really look that doable by public transport, if google maps is anything to go by, at least not in a timely manner. It says driving would be 45-70 minutes in the morning, using the 403, again, not ideal but doable. Oakville is considerably shorter commute time, so ideally we'd try to find a place there, but Burlington does look really nice. We've found a few apartments that are opposite the river as well, (one is with CLV group if anyone has any experience with them).
The rental prices we've been going for seem to be around 2100-2300 for a 2 bed, occassionally a 3 bed. These tend to be managed by a group, but also include some utilities which attracts us.
e are struggling to find any that aren't managed by a group that include any utilities with them, hence this thread. If a place is 2300 and utilities are unlikely to go above 200$, then that is doable. $2500 all in is probably our max with only one income initially.

Re: Toronto utility bills
Hi all,
Just looking for to date rough utility costs that people spend each month based in Toronto region (don't know if it differentiates across Ontario?).
We have a max budget of around $2500 for apartment and utilities inclusive, so we were hoping an apartment/house in the region of $2300 would be doable with utilities taking it to $2500, or thereabouts.
Looking for summer and winter costs if possibles.
2-3 bedroom, 2 people. Cats also, so heat will be on in winter to keep place warm enough for them when we are out.
Thanks
