Persil. Seriously.
"Upscale German appliance manufacturer Miele acts as a direct importer of Henkel Persil powder in Canada and the United states where it can only be purchased at its licensed appliance dealers. It is displayed as a premium German import that is the officially recommended detergent for its washing machines. Due to this exclusive European importation status and specialty quality positioning at the appliance dealerships, it retails for about 40$ CAD a box."
Of course if you have one of those large washers that fills with water and then mildly stirs your clothes in the warm soup for 20 mins its probably not worth it.

One should always be serious about Persil.
To stray from this path is folly.

Mmmmm foodstuffs
Oxo cubes - Oxo's are only available as sachets here and not the same at all.
Instant Custard - I have never seen it here
My son brings these over for me every time he comes
Other than that, I can't think of anything you can't get here!
Practical...
Quilts and Quilt covers are really expensive here (IMO) and it is worth going to Argos and picking up a couple. Be aware that a King size in the UK is a Queen size here though.
If I can think of anything else I will add it

Value Village is one of my favourite places!! I would never have dreamed of shopping in a 'second hand shop' in the UK, but V.V. is the best place! If you root through the stuff, you can find some brand new, brand name clothes, for a few dollars!
Can't beat it IMO !!
