Is There a Time Warp?

Redneck refers to a stereotype of usually rural, Caucasian (i.e. white) people of lower socio-economic status in the United States and Canada. Originally limited to the Appalachians, and later the South, the Ozarks, the Great Plains and the Rocky Mountains, this stereotype is now widespread throughout North America.

thanks - makes for interesting reading.
This phrase particularly caught my eye :
Jeff Foxworthy defines "redneck" as "a glorious lack of sophistication,"

So apart from dingbat's experience, which may be unique, it seems that so far the examples are :-
1) Poor cell phone service.
2) Poor online shopping.
3) Poor road management.
Maybe the root cause is simply the size of the country 1) & 2) are understandable because of coverage and shipping costs. 3) is because the roads are long and cover great distances.
So hopefully Canada won't catch up because if it does I don't see it improving the quality of life.

Bank accounts - have to maintain a minimum amount in the current account in order not to be charged monthly fees if you make "too many" transactions.
Supermarket tills - Cashiers are slow.
Drivers - They like staying on the "fast" lane even though they are driving slow. Overtaking on the right seems to be a common thing over here.
Mobile Phones - Yes the mobiles and tariffs we get over here date from the Jesus Christ era.
But it's a fantastic country with nice people (in general) and I can't imagine myself returning back to England.
