Some comments in various threads state that Canada is "So far Behind" or something equivalent. What are the specific examples?

Internet shopping and researching purchases online - both feel like a UK circa 1993 experience for me

The staff in the banks don't sit in bullet proof cages with tinny microphones to communicate. You get to walk right up to a real life person and, like, talk to them properly, and everything. It's so 1970's

teenagers are not paranoid about having the latest fashions or cell phone. Jeans are worn all day everyday and any cell phone will do, that is if they have one at all.
When I went into a class room of teenagers in the UK and asked who had been robbed of a cell phone, most said yes. Here I do not know any young person who has been a victim of crime. I have just asked my 16 year old if any of his friends have been robbed. Answer ' NO'

Ha ha ha. This is hilarious. I can give you at least twenty examples of cell phone theft (mine included) and every teenager I know round here is into the latest fashions/labels. They all, without exception have cell phones. It is NO different to the UK in that respect.

Enforceable employment legislation.
Attitudes towards working mothers.
Attitudes towards women in general.
Too many red neck racists who would rival your average neanderthal - in numbers.
Covert racists who get away with it - even when reported, time and time again.
Religious discrimination.
Unchecked nepotism.
Poor quality of goods and no one does anything to change it.
Actual customer service which provides a real service, and not just a cheesy grin and "how are you today?" trotted out like an automaton.
Piss poor online shopping/deliveries.
Cost of public transportation.
Many more where they came from - cue the flaming.

Moncton (or Fredericton) are nothing like here either. I've been to both. Daughter is in Fred at the moment.
