HA!!! Back from our tour de get lost just about everywhere. I've got a Garmin GPS with no Canadian map because no ba$tard place sells them, not even Future World! you'd think duh! And the confusing lights thing, big red flashing ones on a main road, with cars edging up to them and if it looks safe to do so they go, well that's what it looks like anyway, so when does this "if it's red stop" theory of a poster on here apply! Is there a book on "Traffic lights on Canadian roads" by Franz Kafka?
I was almost killed when a bus came at me while I was turning left across the traffic, the lights facing me were green for feks sake!
I've taken to getting to places by just turning right, it's taking ages but at least I'll survive this surrealist traffic light nightmare world.
Needs a new thread this.

Stevie baby, if you want to turn left you only have right of way when the green light is flashing only, you nit wit you When you want to turn left when the light is green you have to wait until there is a space and then make your move between cars. Dont you do this in the UK then?

Mac, it's not doo doo doo da, it's do do do do, there's no 'da'. So, do do do do, do do do do, is the correct tune.

Some junctions that have the normal traffic lights during the day change after eg 10.00pm to flashing amber or flashing red. If you are on the more major road you will get flashing amber, and it just warns you it's a junction. If you get flashing red, then you have to stop (3 secs), and then proceed when the road is clear. (I think!!)

Pedestrian crossings have amber flashing lights that come on when they press a button. That means you have to stop to give way to pedestrians.

At any normal stop sign (3-way, 4-way or at a more major road) you are supposed to stop for 3 secs before moving on, even when there's no traffic in sight, or the cop car hiding round the corner nabs you!(or it did me anyway) and gives you a nasty fine!!!!

WELCOME TO CANADA!!!
