We got a reply from Immigration on Thursday. They have confirmed they have received the application and have given us a file number

hey, just to let you know today I received email notification that I passed Sydney's eligibility assessment and now have 120 days to submit my application to London

It took about 4 weeks from delivery of the initial forms

You'll get an inital reply pretty quick but then you won't hear anything for years...literally. We applied in Feb 2006 and our visas weren't granted until September 2008 so I wouldn't hold your breath!

Things have changed since then Yetti - now all SW applications are processed within 6-12 months so the OP shouldn't have too long to wait at all.
