Lanzarote is ok for sun but there's bugger all there to do or see except eat and drink, nice black beaches though. Get them over riding skidoos, skiing, hang gliding (sorry wrong country) skating, hockey and so on. They won't want to go home.

I emigrated from Wales in the 80's, went all the way to England
Now emigrated again to Canada
Although still a lot to do, PR for instance.
Not witnessed the great lifestyle improvement yet, still settling in and trying to gather info for PR application.
Although do expect to try skiing for the first time this year

Ok folks,
Here’s the question. ‘Quality of life’ is constantly mentioned as one of the main reasons for moving to Canada. It can be seen as a very subjective and somewhat esoteric phrase, so, what does it mean in practical terms to those of you now well into your Canadian move?
Thanks already

4 season weather, mostly sunny (but not today). Crisp snowy winters, Hot summers, spectacular fall colours.
A house with a large yard for not much money, I can see my neighbours, but I dont often hear them.
Lower living expenses (mainly property costs I suppose) mean we can get by on my salary while my wife can stay at home with our small kids for the time being.
Little or no crime to worry about, no assaults, no break and entries, no car crime. The last B&E on our street was more than 2 years ago, and I dont remember when the one before that was. This adds up to no stress. Not really any traffic on my daily 20min commute either.
A community spirit that is not so dog eat dog or me first as the one I left in the UK. Parents coaching little league soccer or baseball, or skating lessons for the kids etc. Everyone sort of pulls together, and people know each other. Its just "nice".
I guess I found my niche place, and I haven't forgotten that Ive been lucky to do that.
