I never thought I'd say it a year or two ago when people were making a lot of money out of property, but now I'm so glad I don't have a property to sell. I don't have much money behind me, but then I'm not giving up anything to go so it feels like there's not really anything to lose for me as if I stayed here I'd need to find a home and job anyway. But for those of you who have families, properties and much more at stake I really feel for you.

God knows how we are going to cobble the money together. We are taking the minimum so we pay less shipping - so we aren't taking the cabinets or the dining room furniture or kitchen table. We considered putting it off but both sets of our parents are getting older (one of my inlaws had a very bad fall last week and landed in hospital) and the kids are getting independent and we feel that if we don't go now we will miss our window of opportunity as awful as that may sound.
