Default Passport Fees???

Hi All
This is really a query on behave of my brother who already lives in Canada, he is planning on coming back to the UK for a visit in October, but his current UK passport has expired, I have been doing some research into how to apply while overseas, and I have found the FCO website. It states the fees are $211 US and $33 US for courier fees, I just wanted to know if theses are correct, as my brother tried to find out himself and said he found a website stating approx $600 including a $300 charge for admin fees...not sure which one of us is right so was looking for some reassurance from others.
Thanks in advance for any help
Kerry x

This website tells you all you need to know - it's on the 'How much to pay' page

That is a government one with all the info on it, not sure why you would be looking for more info

I just sent mine off, and the $240ish is the correct amount for processing via Washington.

If he applies now he may have it back by October...
