Re: Netflix Canada lanched today....
so far the picture quality has been very good, both through my pc and via a Wii.
ive watched a few movies i'd never even pick up if i went to blockbusters
some good some awful.
i'm looking forward to the content expanding as most of the stuff that i suddenly think i'd like to watch even if its new or old just isnt there yet.

Mind you considering the writing in that article it could be they've put the decimal point in the wrong place.

Re: Netflix Canada lanched today....
I've been using Netflix for around 2 weeks (since my xbox died and I bought a ps3) the first month is free then $7.99 a month there after so I figured I'd give it a whirl.
Picture quality has been fine, no issues at all, it streams as soon as I select with no delays, (this maybe down to good internet at my end but I thought I'd mention it), the selection is OK, seems best for TV shows and documentaries rather than new blockbusters. I did watch A bridge too far on Sunday, the movie is older than I am so its got some oldies too!
I'll probably keep it for a few months then cancel for a few and so on, unless they update frequently I'll be all out of stuff I want to watch before winter is ou.

Actually I notice they've increased the selection considerably recently. Still not all the big blockbusters, but the liked of Aliens have been added. If you're an anime fan then the selection has increased considerably to add a lot of decent shows. Some newer items appearing as well like Jennifer's Body (no idea if it's any good, but it's a recent movie) and a few others. Definitely improving drastically, but it still has way to go. I think it's worth the money.

Am loving watching my way through Mad Men, and for free at the moment.
Goodbye Rogers.

If you want to keep an eye on what's being added on a daily basis, check out this site :-

they have the first 4 seasons of Rescue Me on there now. If anyone had not seen this series, it's definately worth a watch. One of the better US shows that I've seen in years.

Two video stores have closed in the last month in Lower Lonsdale, i suspect that their days are numbered.

Me too. For about a $100 bucks a year it a great deal. Not to mention if something is crap you just turn it off and don't feel cheated like when getting a movie from the vido shop.

I bought a new telly over the weekend (Sharp Aquos - LED- 52 inches!) bit miffed though as i bought it specifically as it is internet ready and is supposed to have netflix built right in. Only works in the US though. I called Netflix and they told me that they are working with Sharp to bring the service to Canada.
Samsung apparently is the only one that is netflix ready in Canada at the mo
