Netflix Canada lanched today....
Netflix Canada launched today (www.netflix.com) for $7.99 a month. Has anyone signed up?
Selection looks to be limited compared to the US - but I guess that's to be expected....

www.zip.ca does however do DVD's via post if that's what you're after.

Don't get too excited - I should have clarified that Netflix Canada is internet streaming only....

I just took a look and it really is pretty limited, I imagine they will have to increase the choice, or else all will be watched within a couple of months

Chicken and egg situation I guess - the more people they get sign up, the more selection they can offer. And people won't sign up unless the selection is good....
I might give it a go, they have a free months trial anyway.

So thanks for the heads up.
Got to be better than the shite I pay for on Rogers every month.

We currently use Zip.ca and I guess we've been lucky as we've not had any problems with discs going astray. We find it really good. Good selection of movies etc too.

According to the news today the problem in Canada is/will be the downloading amount allowed without incurring other charges from Rogers/Bell etc. Recently Rogers, in a discouraging move, lessened the download amount available to its subscribers and/or restructured prices. In the states most broadband providers allow 50-60GB whereas it's much less in Canada.

Don't think I'll bother! I pay $119.99 p/m (the cheapest business account with Xplornet Satellite) for a measly 525MB/day allowance...which is about 15GB/month

Kind of annoying it took NetFlix so long. Many Blu-Ray players in the states have Netflix built in, but when they release them in Canada they strip out Netflix support. Hopefully they'll be re-enabling it for Canadians in firmware updates.

I have a zip subscription, never had a disk go missing coming to me. Had one go missing going back. Gone through a couple hundred disks in three years.
