I am afraid its more expensive than we expected it to be (compare to US for sure). Food shopping especially. Fuel is round about $1.130. If you shop in Safeway you get $0.05 off per liter, standard loaf of pre-sliced bread $1.99, 4Lt milk is $4.97 plus deposit $0.25 and recycling $0.05. You do need to shop around but thats very simillar to UK. I used to shop in Morrisons, Sainsburys and Tesco so here you will have Safeway and Real Canadian Superstore. Stay away from COOP as its super expensive. Forgot to say - the cheese is mega expensive here. Orange plastic one will cost you around $10!!!

However I have recently learnt that soon the only branch open on a Saturday will be the Chinatown one which is a pain.

Football is primarily still a girls sport here...its not structured like the UK..Also it is a summer sport played mostly from May-Aug. Adult football does exist but not the way you are used to..again a lot is indoor ad hok kinda stuff..there are some adult leagues. you will find the majority of good standard players are immigrants.
