To moderators: Is it OK for non-Brits to post here?
Hi, I posted a message here yesterday, but I guess I should have asked before I did it. As I said in that post, I'm not British, but I've been following this forum on and off since August 2005. So, the question is: is it OK for me to post here? I looked into the forum rules and could not find anything regarding that.
Thank you. LHK |

Re: To moderators: Is it OK for non-Brits to post here?
Thanks very much! ;)
I started thinking about going to Canada when I was seventeen, when I was still in high-school (Now I'm about to turn 40!! ). Then I dropped the subject to the back of my mind (at the time I was too young and had not near the number of points necessary for that, not to mention a total lack of life and professional experience). Actually, I completely forgot about that. Then, when I started dating the missus  , about twelve years ago, we briefly flirted with the idea of going to Yukon! Then, we forgot the issue again. In 2004, we went to Toronto and the wife fell in love with the region (we were tourists and were at the Sheraton, living the good life! ), especially NOTL (which I know is totally prohibitive unless you're filthy rich). Last year, when we learned the family was increasing, we started toying with the idea again. Last week, we decided to begin our planning, which I detailed in my previous post. I'd appreciate if you could share your thoughts and experience with me regarding my questions of yesterday. ;) Again, thanks very much for the warm welcome! Best, LHK |

Unlike you have no partner, spouse or child on the way. Totally independent, I am. Good luck to you. T'ronno is the best city in the world. |

You also lived in Brazil?
We too looked at moving to Canada 20 years ago and then along came a new job and the first child and life passes you by as they say. Good luck in your quest. |

We're kind of in the same boat, mate. I am non Brit, live there though. I didn't just think about living in Canada when I was 18. I actually did it and have wanted to go back ever since. I am past 40 (will be 42 later this year).

How is it better than Chicago? It looks like Chicago, it's getting on for the same size as Chicago, it has a similar climate to Chicago. Not that I've anything against Chicago or Toronto but they seem pretty much interchangable second tier North American cities.
