Migration Agents

I can't remember the exact wording on the form. If it explicitly asks if you have taken the test and you haven't then you should answer no. Where you declare your language proficiency you max out all the abilities and write a letter to go with the form stating that you were born in the uk, educated using english and that english is the language of your workplace etc etc.
Likewise the same with French (CSE 5 - not sure how good that one was!).

We nearly use an agent, so glad we didn’t though there are so many that just rip you off. Do it yourself, is not hard.
When I had the interview with the agent. A very well known agent that we seen at an expo. He broke down all the costs involved to move all 5 of us which totalled £7000. Just to give you an example. They wanted £500 (approx $875) just to transfer my licence over. When I did it myself it cost me $80. They wanted so much to put my kids in school. Doing it myself cost nothing. Another family that started to use an agent, ended up cutting him out and doing it them selves, after paying a lot out to him. They saved a fortune and got here sooner too so agents, forget them. They are not worth it.

No need to stress over this, they'll accept that you can speak english if you are an english native speaker raised in the UK.
Edit to add: You need to write a letter stating this.

I didn't bother providing anything - they had copies of my degree certs in the education section which they could look at if they wish (and for that I didn't provide any proof of anything below undergraduate degree).

I have decide to go alone and do the application myself and save a few £££. As I dont have a complicated case, have enough points and will be applying as a skilled worker(electrician) it wont be worth me using an agent.

We used an agent, and whilst they've been OK, in hindsight we probably shouldnt have bothered. They do nothing really- I filled out all the forms etc, and they charge 1800 GBP for the service of making sure I'd done it OK.
My employers have since offered to pay the final installment (750 GBP, when we get passport requests) but even still, it's an expensive option.
I wouldnt mind if I felt I was getting something for the money, but it's really just a document checking exercise in our case.

One issue worth looking at is to how interchangeable your electrical qualifications are as my mate who is also a sparky told me he had to retrain and obtain new certification. Can anyone give more details regarding this to assist him.

As this chap is an Electrician (& I stand to be corrected) he is unlikely to have a degree so it might be worth him submitting them along with any other supporting info.

Goodness that is a sweeping generalisation! All plumbers/electricians/trades/etc etc must not have degrees because well, if they did they wouldn't be a plumber/electrician etc etc!
oh dear.

I'll give you another true sweeping generalization - most Electrician / Plumbers are men. Just because it is a generalization doesn't mean there is no substance behind it!!
