Default Migration Agents

Hi,

I'm thinking of going to canada via the skilled visa route but i would like my application done by an agent. So would anyone on here reccomend me an agent as there seems to be loads! I have been looking on the net to see if there are any round my area in Coventry/ Warwickshire but cant seem to find any.

Spoken to Visa Bureau.com yesterday just to get a feel of things and to speak to someone, the bloke seemed ok and is charging aroud £1900+vat.

Cheers Guys

We nearly use an agent, so glad we didn’t though there are so many that just rip you off. Do it yourself, is not hard.
When I had the interview with the agent. A very well known agent that we seen at an expo. He broke down all the costs involved to move all 5 of us which totalled £7000. Just to give you an example. They wanted £500 (approx $875) just to transfer my licence over. When I did it myself it cost me $80. They wanted so much to put my kids in school. Doing it myself cost nothing. Another family that started to use an agent, ended up cutting him out and doing it them selves, after paying a lot out to him. They saved a fortune and got here sooner too so agents, forget them. They are not worth it.

thanks for the replys, just going through the forms,

on the form: Schedule 3: Economic Classes, under section 6-language. It says, "have you taken an approved test to assess your proficiency in english or french", can someone tell me what an approved test is?

Thanks

IELTS - if you were born, raised and educated in England, you will not need to proof your proficiency in English. Just look at the spelling and grammar of the posters on this board. One would assume that they had to write a covering letter with their applications and they are here

I can't remember the exact wording on the form. If it explicitly asks if you have taken the test and you haven't then you should answer no. Where you declare your language proficiency you max out all the abilities and write a letter to go with the form stating that you were born in the uk, educated using english and that english is the language of your workplace etc etc.

We used Access Migration about 4 years ago - I can't remember the costs exactly, but it was nowhere near 1900+VAT! I know another couple who used them and they were happy enough with the service.

I actually rang them today as i had been referred to them by a friend who went to canada, but they no longer deal with canada, only australia.
