From: Bristol ~ Nanaimo, BC ... It's a bit like Salem's Lot!!

Thanks for the link. I've cheekily forwarded it onto friends who live in Qualicum Beach, they love finding new places. They kindly took me to the Crow & Gate pub. Another great place was dinghy dock over on Prospect Island. The new Sydney Pier Hotel has a fab restaurant (budget buster!!) but well worth it.

The Fox & hounds have theme nights once a month
maybe your friends would like those ..... I hear they're pretty funny, there's an 'only fools & horses' one coming up soon. Did you go the the Shady rest in Qualicum?(Just read this back to myself & I sound like an old soak!
)

Not quite so keen on the Dinghy Dock ....... makes me feel a bit seasick if it's rough outside, all that bobbing around!

The Shady rest? nah, but sounds good after a couple of heavy sessions

With it being a small Island, on the job hunting front and "red tape process" I'm assuming it would be better to target large firms in Nanaimo or Victoria. We want to live on the Island and even Hubby has thought perhaps working in Calgary during the week and flying over to the Island at weekends (after 22 years of marriage... that kinda appeals seeing him at weekend

)How easy did you guys find it to obtain employment there?
