Old Speckled Hen is cheaper than Molson Canadian
I went to the Beer store today and saw it was just over $10 for 4 half litre cans of Old Speckled Hen, yet Molson Canadian cost more and the cans were smaller I think.
I don't get it. The pre-tax price of OSH must indeed be low and when you take into account the price to import it then even cheaper. Do Canadians ever protest about anything? It seems not...

Old Speckled Hen...... yummmeeeee. Haven't seen any around these parts yet. London Pride in a big bottle (440ml?) sets you back about 2.50 a bottle, which isn't bad.
The only UK beer I see regularly is Kilkenny and Boddingtons.
Oh for an old speckled hen! Mind you, some of the "micro breweries" around here pump out some pretty nice stuff, but it is expensive.

I generally use Canadian to wash the car. OSH I would drink through a sweaty sock.

I am in Georgetown and even in this part of the World we can buy OSH in the communist inspired LCBO. However, UK brewers sell their products in metric measurements, not imperial, so you have to do a quick calculation. Often, when buying German beers in 500 ml cans, I find it cheaper than the Canadian corn syrup based beers sold iin the lesser quantity containers.

I'm not far from you. I buy Pride in Orangeville or Guelph. I usually glance at the other brands to see what's on sale and OSH wasn't on Friday. At the LCBO though, not the Beer Store, that's a capitalist inspied monopolistic attempt to control consumption by limiting supply to specific brands.

Good day, Sir. All this talk of beer has just prompted me* to walk over to the fridge and open a nice cold bottle of Warsteiner (0.55 euro, ~ C$ 0.82 for a 500 ml bottle).
Cheers.

This is the British Bear available from MB Liquor Marts:-

The Beer stores here just sell the "normal" stuff.

Today at the LCBO OSH is $3.35 for 500 megawatts. Molson Canadian is $2.10.
