When we first got here the average price at our local garage was 107.6 per litre. This has gone up to the highest level of 109.9 and recently it went down to 102.6. Then at the weekend we were shocked to see it below the dollar at 99.6, so imagine how impressed we were today when it went even lower to 97.3.
If it goes any lower I will report back. How's the prices where you are?

I dont really agree anyway, there is no good non political reason why gasoline is half the cost in N.America compared to Europe. Transport / Delivery costs should mean its more costly here as they have to ship it further from the refineries
But really, it costs what it costs. We all need to buy it, so they have us by the short and curlies, its not like you can mail order it if you dont like the local cost. Im just glad its cheaper here than the UK, but I got over the urge to drive a 4.0l gas guzzler as the fuel was so cheap pretty quickly once I started to think in terms of $cdn income and expense.
But I like Janes original point that at least it goes down as well as up here. Bit pissed off though that they have us thinking 85c is cheap now. It wasnt that long ago it was in the 60s, when I arrived in '98 it was 34c/l!

Fortunately though I ended up buying a Pontiac G6, and the fuel efficiency is loads better than I had on the PT cruiser, which would only make 2 trips to Toronto and back on one tank.

You can have mine, if you like purple written off, involved in a four car collision on the QEW PT Cruisers.
in all seriousness I loved that car, I had the touring version, where you can totally remove the rear seats, if you need to move a lot of gear. It was very comfortable to drive, very forgiving as a new driver and as far as I could tell in the 9 months I had it from new, pretty reliable.
The things that aren't so good on a PT are the fuel economy, but it's no where near as bad as a buick discovery. The shuddering that it makes in high winds if your doing anything over 100 (though of course I never did I hasten to add). Acceleration was pretty slow at times too.
Overall though, I'd say its an excellent car. I'd have probably got another one, if I didn't figure that I would get flashbacks every time I drove it.
The G6 is great, though with a few gripes. Even with the seat raised fully up vertically, I have to use a cushion with it, otherwise the headrests are agonising on long journeys.
Fuel economy is great. I feel like I go forever on one tank
It has awesome acceleration, a very tight turning circle and heated seats, which obviously sealed the deal...
