This will make you laugh: we actually had to pay $10 more round trip on top of the $99 because we selected seats which are deemed to be "seats with a view"!!

We've always had excellent service from BA. Even though the staff can all tell that you bought your flights with points and not money.

Air Transat were good when we emigrated. Best option when travelling with pets and we were up the front.

WestJet can be pretty bad for connecting flights - their domestic flights operate like a bus service, going round Canada rather than backwards and forwards, between cities, which means that delays can snowball.

I've only had bad reports from people who flew with them to/from Gatwick.

Lufthansa are poor (via Germany)

KLM are good.

£2500?! You must be looking to fly soon then? I don't think I've paid more than £420pp return to Toronto. I'm going to Vancouver in August and managed to get that for £450pp which I thought was quite good.

I've flown AC and Air Transat, both seemed reasonable for the price though AC is perhaps a little better in economy. Would happily fly either again.

Transat are generally the best value, Westjet prices are OK but watch their luggage charges and you can't book luggage online. Air Canada are expensive and bad, BA have always been good but expensive. Wow air are a new(ish) player from LGW via Iceland, the prices look great until you rack up all the other charges and then you are back into Transat territory. If you want more competition there are options going via the USA, you have to work with a connection but deals might be available, also the USA has more options into other airports such as Manchester.
