It's grown since last year, added more routes and planes, and is still one of the faster growing airlines in the world.

I also received an email yesterday, stating that my mum's flight's at Christmas had been cancelled from Manchester on 16th and also the return flight from Toronto on the 29th. I spent all morning rearranging her flights, still with Canadian Affair. (Now travelling on 9th and returning on 27th)
I am staying confident that they are just being "cost effective" with under booked flights, although we had the drama of lost flights last Christmas, with Zoom!
Let's hope everything is ok with Canadian Affair - my mum couldn't travel here in the winter without a direct flight from Manchester!!!!!

Eastern was allowed to fail.
TWA was bought by AA but was failing.
All the large US carriers, flying under bankruptcy protection, guaranteed to lose one of the major ones next year (unless the US pulls more anti-competitive non-free market economy bail outs).
While some have gone chapter 11, I dont know of any major still in bankruptcy in the US.
AA- No
DL- No
NW-No
UA-No
US-No
CO-No
Airlines tweak schedules on a near daily basis, and all airlines in North America have been cutting routes and parking planes to meet falling demand.
Adjusting schedules and cutting flights does not equal the airline is failing, almost every airline in the US and Canada have been reducing their capacity for the past 2 years to meet falling demand.
Air travel is one of the first industries affected by a recession and is one of the last to recover from one.

I booked with Canadian Affairs last week to fly out of Manchester 19 Decemeber so hope things will be ok. Before I pay my balance I might just give them a ring to check out whether they think there is any possibility of it being cancelled.
I agree though that if we all panic and do not book with cheap airlines it will become a self fulling prophecy and may see the end of cheap flights to Canada. I can understand them cancelling unprofitable flights because it makes economic sense, but if you're meant to be on one of those flights it aint good.

Oh dear, I was planning on booking with Canadian Affair next week for December 12th-19th. I think it might be worth me booking with someone else even though its more expensive as I have to stick to those specific dates. Shame because CA is about £150 cheaper than the rest.
What i have found and i nagged to a real nice stewardess on the plane, was that we flew manchester to calgary, but if the plane is not full then they bring in the london to it as well, doesnt make much difference to the flight, just that london has alittle longer on the plane

On our way out we went standard class, on the way back we went premium (needed the extra luggage
) - must admit we have flown zoom, flyglobal, transit and also Canadian Affair (TC) - out of all of them i would so fly with TC anytime, But then Air Canada was charging $5k for 3 people......2 adults and one kid, they even advised that these was reduced for breavement flights
We got them for way less than this, so better deal...
i would advise anyone to book with there creditcard, after the zoom business, i have never booked my flights on a debitcard since

Another frustration is that some airlines appear to be making changes to baggage allowances from October..... one bag limited to 23kgs per person with a number of key carriers! Charges for the second bag are significant i.e £90 with BA if checked at the airport although less if done on line!
Anyone going to Canada needs to review this and not assume that the two bag rule is in place.
