Re: Exchange rate

Mandy, nothing to do with foot and mouth in my opinion....a strong rumour came out of the forex markets today that the Bank of England are going to cut rates at their next meeting. This was after a speech this morning by Mervin King head of Bank of England.

Obviously, as i have explained before if you cut rates the currency becomes less attractive, therefore if this rumour turns out to be true then sterling will weaken giving us all a shittier rate. For what it is worth, i expect Bank of England to cut next month.

Chris,

Spoken with Scheider, thank you. Do you think we will see 2.14 again over the next couple of weeks??

Re: Exchange rate

if it is going to happen it will be next tuesday night...if the US federal reserve cut rates by more than 25bp, then i think you will see 2.14 plus.

7.15pm london time next tuesday....watch either Bloomberg or CNBC tv to see the decision.

Re: Exchange rate

the fed WILL cut, the question is how much.....25bp is in the market, however possibility of anything up to 100bp. If they do more than 25bp then dollar will weaken and i expect CAD$ to follow.

As i stated earlier i expect the Bank of England to cut next month aswell, but that is 3 weeks away. Markets all focused on next tuesday.

Don't forget that rate is the actual spot rate not the rate that joe soap would get. UK forex transfer rate is 2.0917 :( I do hope that the rate goes above 2.14 as chris is predicting not much longer and i will be transfering my money

Re: Exchange rate

steve i said if fed cut by more than 25bp than you will likely see 2.14, if they only do 25bp it won't happen in the short term.

Re: Exchange rate

no i expect only a 25 bp cut, but there are alot of people out there going for more. If it comes out as more, and i can see the justification for it, then the shit will hit the fan.

All in all, good for me though. Some really good money making opportunities at the moment.

7.15pm london time next tuesday....watch either Bloomberg or CNBC tv to see the decision.

Chris

It's you....

I always knew there was someone out there making money out of this "currency scam" while the rest of us grub around for pennies.

Good for you Chris.

Sadly I am one of those people who are quite happy to spend money but have no idea how it works.:D

Somehow the concept of buying stuff that doesn't exist yet baffles me. I even got confused by Trading Places.:confused:

Plans all coming together then?
