Our Mozzie screens have rusty clips and taking them out would most likely damage them. We do the powers hose window clean, every time the car gets a wash.

so really its the same as if you did your own in the UK, you would look for the most possible and efficient way BUT if some little guy came to your house once a month and did it for a reasonable fee (GBP15) then you gladly hand the job over, hmmmmmmmmm

I used to pay a bloke $50 twice a year to clean the outside of my windows. Then one year he stopped coming...?

I would happily pay someone to clean my windows and gutters, I hate ladders.

Damn straight. nothing fulfills your middle class credentials as having a little guy come round to clean the windows

My husband built up a window cleaning round in the UK after we closed our retail business and were waiting to see if we would get our visas for Canada.
He used to go once a month.

We do office cleaning over here in the Moncton area and offer window cleaning too.
If canadians have their windows cleaned at all they have them done in the spring or fall or both, but never do they want them done on a monthly basis.
So they are inevitably very dirty and so the charge is more than it would be for a regular clean.
Only the commercial windows seem to get done more often.

Its just one of those things that are just different here.

I am SO wondering if this is something worth pursuing here in NS.... BUT if its the Brits that want it but the Canadians have no interest, then its not a business that will take off very effectively.
I wonder the same thing about home shopping at times.......(like Occado)

Fast forward to Spring 2013.
I guess all you can do is maybe try advertising in the local press. Stick an ad up on the local school/community boards, if such things exist. Also, if there is a locally community website you could add some info to that. Do some local leaflet drops and see what comes of it. None of that would cost much, but might be worth a try. Sometimes countries don't have such regular services as someone mentioned above. It might not be because it's not been thought of, but if you try, and the price is right, you may get more interest than you first expect. Time it for the start of spring next year and you might get lucky

I seem to recall that for every successful businessman (oops... business person ) they have 7 failed businesses behind them (or something like that) so give it a bash. If it doesn't work, chalk it down to experience and 1 of the 7

It's not like investing in window cleaning gear will break the bank!
