It has taken 3 years to actually put day to day life on hold long enough to make this dream a reality, I just wish I had pushed the button 10 years ago when $2.10 to the £ was a reallity.

Thank you, Luck is what you make of it, The way I look at it "Whats the worst that can happen" In the word of the late Colin McCrea "we are all here for a short time.....................so lets have a good time"
Get your wife out there and hope for great weather and she will be hooked, as we say " Yer a langtime deed"

Here(Toronto) it’s all about investing and buying property in Florida and the agencies that are so willing to help you make those deals, right down to discount flights and assistance with renting the properties, the Americans that we know through business reckon the good stuff was snapped up over a year ago….

Florida ? that was so last year !!! Its all about Arizona & Nevada now, Its true that if you are a property dealer people seem to hate you, as a commercial landlord you sometimes feel like you should be ashamed of what you do, I have never seen so many realtors in my life until I started in Canada, I have never bought a property from an agent in my life, in my business as soon as a property goes to market its too late ! unless buying it direct from the owner we walk away, The only thing an agent does is drive the price up, I advise all my buddys to chap the door of the house they want with a price in mind and 3 times out of 10 the owner is receptive. It never does any harm to ask and many owners are flattered that you liked there property enough to chap there door.

There are openings everwhere, you could buy just about anything for the right money now, the secret is to try and use your own money and only buy stuff you like, ugly property is hard to move on
I would have bought the house with the leaking oil tank if she had came back with the right price when she was freaking out.
