Re: canada immigration tv episode from bbc1?
There was a very interesting thread in the moving back forum from a couple in Oz on a TV show offering them the chance to come back to the UK.
Lets just say that reality TV somewhat fails to meet its billing, they felt railroaded and that their choices and decisions didnt count for much compared to what the director and producers could generate in the way of tension and contrast....They would be shown beautiful houses way out of their realistic price range, and the areas they wanted to look at for the sake of job availability didnt jive well with what the producers wanted to show, so they were ignored again.
Take anything you see on TV regarding emmigrating with a huge pich of salt, and consider it firmly "entertainment" rather than "education"!

Aren't they always ?
There is an interesting thread (till it went downhill) in the MBTTUK section by 'ezzie' who recently filmed a programme for one of these companies - but hers was a reverse story about Moving from Oz to UK. Makes for an interesting read in the ways the programme is filmed and and how the participants are staged and filmed. Makes you wonder what on earth ends up on the cutting room floor.
I would always take those sort of programmes with a massive bucket of salt. It doesn't stop them, however, from being great viewing !
Edit - looks like Iain had exactly the same thoughts ....
