Paying CPP contributions
I'm currently going through inland spousal application & have AIP & recently received my OWP, i've started working & on my first wage i paid CPP contributions.
I'm wondering if anyone knows if i should be paying this when i have a work permit starting with the number 9 & which is also temporary until i receive PR seeing that i'm not yet either a resident or citizen at the minute?
Any info would be appreciated.

2. Who pays into the Canada Pension Plan?
With very few exceptions, every person in Canada over the age of 18 who earns a salary must pay into the Canada Pension Plan. You and your employer each pay half of the contributions. If you are self-employed, you pay both portions.
You do not make contributions if you are receiving a Canada Pension Plan disability or retirement pension. At age 70, you stop contributing even if you have not stopped working.
