I wouldn't do that with Bell, I wind up disputing every second or third bill, something I'd rather do before they've had the money.
Some long distance plans such as Pennytalk appear to be cheaper but that short long distance phone call to the US/Canada of 3 min will cost you an extra 49c on top of the 3c charge for time. Yak only charges for time. |
Re: Cable TV/Internet/Phone
I've only been here for 9 weeks but I've been with Shaw for 6 and like others have said there service for the TV is ace. You seem to get through quickly when you phone them but if you call at peak and you don't then you can leave them a message on your number for a call-back. They really do phone you back too (I was dubious after bad experiences), my callback was 15 mins after my original call.
I can't afford the HD PVR right now (will be in a few months though) so we just use the basic shaw cable box and I have to say it looks quite crappy on a 37" TV. I did find swapping the connection from coaxial to RCA ($2 from a dollar store) made it improve a little though. The Internet Support is slightly different and I found them to not be as good. I'm a mac user and I know what I'm doing and could tell they were fobbing me off with the usual "try this, try that" and the using a mac part resulted in me repeatedly being put on hold (probably while they searched google / asked a colleague). Basically even though I pay for the Xtreme service which is supposed to be super-fast and high download allowance web pages were taking forever to load. They don't give you any access to the cable modem they supply so you have to go through them when you have issues. They insisted nothing was wrong and it must be my setup and not them. Low and behold though ever since my call web page load times have been increasingly better - go figure! I'm happy though now so I don't care too much about how the solution came about now, this glad it's 'normal'. When I signed up in metrotown (yeah I know) they gave me each service half price for 3 months and some free sports channels like GolTV (though I've now upgraded for more since). They always seem to have some kind of deal on though, everytime I've walked by there stand I've noticed there's some kind of offer. |

Can you work their website? I see a shouty black man and lots of rolling pictures but, as soon as I try to click on one, it disappears. If I ask for help I get a chat window with someone who can't write in English who keeps pasting "thank you for using Bell" "have a great day" and other useless crap without helping. If they want paying they're going to have to send a proper bill.
