Some if this is really amusing...

The interest rates have been dictated by the bank of England an not the government for some time…and in reality these low intrest rates have been driven by the stagnation in the US economy ..so nowt to do wiv T.Blair

House prices.. well that classic piece of stupidity lies firmly at the heart of the greedy public.. they create the boom and pay the price each any every tiem they do it… and yes ist starting to look just like last time….

And to worry about a down turn affecting the UK because of its debt… well welcome to last week we would all goes down and fast because we rely on the US economy and guess what they have the deficit that could put the whole world in recession that’s why they’re spending so much time being nice to china and encouraging others to buy government bonds to prop up the dollar…. At least you in the UK will get some protection via Europe… we in Canada sink or swim at the mercy of the US economy

I can never look at the word Petawawa without thinking of turbo-charged farts.

I should probably stay in less.

Yes it is amusing to think that a bankrupt Europe will protect the UK. The economy in Europe is even putting off Mr Blair from joining right now so are you thinking what they're thinking?

No difference there then between Europe effecting UK and US effecting Canada.

Crap!

Many factors there are to consider says Confucius.

every country has it problems! including Canada, believe me the grass isn't always greener on the other side, I'm from the UK and ive lived in the US and Canada and after 4 year of being outside of the UK I would consider moving back if the opportunity arrived, Canada is a nice country but it lacks real culture, I miss the culture back home and knowing that your 'British' here being Canadian means hmmm not a lot

[QUOTE=usacanada]Canada is a nice country but it lacks real culture

Well, that's a nice, well-defined comment on the world's second largest and possibly most ethnically diverse country. Would you care to elaborate?

Something I've learned in Canada is that the illegal immigrants can be the most valuable immigrants. They're not eligible for any sort of government services and they can't afford to get into any trouble as even a speeding ticket means deportation. They just work away quietly building businesses using thier own capital and taking nothing from the state. Granted an illegal can't pay income tax but, in Ontario, the tax man does quite well enough from indirect taxation.

LOL!

Taser guns, tear gas, water guns, rubber bullets, police brutality, powerful multi-nationals, a lot of bogus media, genocidal government policies, .... I have my own personal CSIS file (ie - I'm a potential threat to the nation's security ) because I took a "Marxist Social Theory" course at university and protested against clear-cut logging in Clayoquot Sound, FSS! I'd say Canada's right up, or surpasses Britain on the fascism scale!

I do see the point you're trying to make but... ok here's a joke. How do you get 100 Canadians out of a swimming pool? .... Just asked them politely.

There's an iron fist.... it's just covered with a velvet glove. The majority of Canadians are sheep.

(I have a feeling I won't be allowed back in the country! )

Ask them rudely though and you have no chance of budging them! Canadians can be as stuborn as the next guy. To be fair, most people are sheep or sleepwalkers, just look around you!
