Blair in again
God help us, but he got in again on the lowest share of the vote in history.
30 odd percent would even make George Bush blush. |

30 odd percent would even make George Bush blush. I could not help but laugh when a lady in her 50's was interviewed a little while back during the election proceedings. What do you think of the Labour party was the question. The essence was do not trust them, made a mess of the economy and quite awful to boot. So the reply came - you won't be voting Labour then. She retorted oooh no, I have always voted Labour, I was brought up labour and could not possibly do anything else. When you have the intelligence of a Gerbil being given a pencil and an X it makes for an interesting life....? And here's me posting... I was supposed to stop as I could not cope with the crap that sometimes comes up. 14 months on and I am having a few temper control problems. Wife threatened me with 'anger management courses' in a jovial manner....I wonder if she meant it? If people would only come halfway the world would be a bit better me thinks. |

Grab your ankles and brace yourselves guys, we're about to be shafted good and proper! :scared:
Whoopee! I can't wait for the rise in income tax on top of increased un-stealth taxes. |
Re: Blair in again
I cannot understand why everybody sings the praises of Gordon Brown. Sure glad my PR application has been in for months, I'd be getting depressed if I was expecting to stay in this country. |

30 odd percent would even make George Bush blush. Maybe now is the time for the people to push for proportional representation, if a party can get into power with just over 30% of the votes |

Maybe now is the time for the people to push for proportional representation, if a party can get into power with just over 30% of the votes It's well past time that the antiquated and corrupt electoral system in the UK was replaced. Unfortunately all three main parties know they'd be minority parties with PR, so they have no incentive to introduce it. IMHO from here it's a short slippery slope to a major economic and constitutional crisis. And that will probably take decades to fully resolve. Professional Politicians and all that goes with the territory. Someone got to do the job after alll. |
Re: Blair in again
"Radio 4's Today Programme presenter John Humphrys said his vote was stolen. Speaking on the BBC show he revealed that he was prevented from voting after somebody illegally applied for a postal ballot on his behalf."

Re: Blair in again
I'll be very careful what I say. Are there any Labour/Blair supporters out there??
All the parties talk about savings to be made and doing away with uni fees etc. but someones got to pay for it. So that would be me and you. Give Tony a break - I didn't even want to consider the other options. I'll think I'll stick with what I know. |
