Do you need a goalie 'cos thats what he does, when he has time :D

Actually we just lost one of our keepers so that works out well. We train saturday mornings around 8.30am at the West End soccer centre... if he wants to come he is welcome. Just look on the screen for 'Strathcona Terriers' and ask for Danny in the changing room.

We will, thanks for the well wishes.

How long have you been in Edmonton?

We've been here since the middle of June. I'm originally from Saskatchewan but am new here, other half is from Derbyshire and I guess you could say that our daughter is from London. Seems pretty good so far, though hope you are ready for your first winter on the prairies! Can't complain tho - its already mid Nov. and no snow, so it shouldn't be a bad one this year!

I love the winter weather but I'm sure I will be eating my words soon

We came over in the Summer and it was too hot, I got an Alberta tan.

Hi Guys

Was going to start a new thread but thought i'd better tag to this one first.

So i just accepted an offer to emigrate to Edmonton, start work on 05 January 09!

I need some insight on apartments and such like. I spent 6 years as a kid in Ottawa, Ontario so I know the Canadian way of doing things. Does anyone have any practical tips for a new arrival....? Sorry for being a little vague, i'm so hyper i can hardly write the email!

It's defo gonna be cold when you arrive- not the best time for moving. I was here for a few days last Jan and it was -20, which was considered quite mild for that time of year!
Good luck though, hope it all goes well.
