Look he doesnt have a leg to stand on and I am not exactly losing sleep-and all the bases you mentioned are covered-(my favorite employee is a Muslim)-but I have been "told off" by my lawyers and others for my "careless comments"-literally just negative remarks about the bombings.

"Water off a ducks back" then, surely?

Shit like this is always happening and will continue to happen. The race-card is quite simply too tempting to not be played when people are put into situations like this.

The real point being that in the UK workplace anything you say will be held against you.
People claim they want to leave the Uk to get away from "PC" but then ,bizzarely, complain when confronted with the more relaxed Australian attitude.
These whinging poms want it both ways.
The problem with Australians , Like Vash, is they suffer from cultural cringe-and think the ,say, English know better than them, because they havent experience the rotten English system first hand-they don't realise how advanced Australia actually is.

It sounds as if you have experienced this kind of thing yourself-you really do understand the dynamics- The guy sees pounds and can't resist-like you said its too easy and tempting-the lawyers say find anything that might stick-the mud game.
I have nothing against the guy-actually I like him-its the modern-day English mindset that peeves me.

Judging by his posts yesterday he is just trying to start an argument.

IMHO, even though the guy might be British by birth or descent I can't really agree with your statement that this is all part of a "rotten English system". He represents an ethnic minority and is actually using his ethnicity and not his "English-ness" to launch his case against you from.

Look the day an Aussie gets done in the UK for discriminating against a "Pom", even I would agree, is far off.

I didnt really mean the person-I meant the whole system. OH and another funny thing-poms will bag the UK all day long-but if you agree all the sudden it all changes.
What I mean by the whole system is the way England once put into place a whole heap of rules that made sense and were practical-now they are mindlessly adhered to.
A day doesnt go by when I dont hear some-one here bagging immigrants-but it is not the immigrants-its the rules. They actually favor lowlives. I could elaborate greatly on this topic.

Isn't that a bit like people who say 'I'm not homophobic, I know lots of gay people' as if that's justification of their actions or words?

Given the manner in which you come across on this forum, and the fact that this case has got as far as lawyers discussing it, surely there has to be something in it (although I hardly expect you to agree).

There's a lot wrong with a lot places and I'd be the first to agree with you on a lot of issues about UK government and legislation, I'm sure. Conversely, I'm left feeling incredulous about the revised labour laws that recently came into effect in Australia. I can't quite believe that the Australian government think that this is "progress". It seems to me that the only party being protected is the employer. Hardly a fair system is it BUT I wouldn't extend my comments to "the whole Australian system is kaput" because I simply don't believe that.

In this particular instance I think that the "lazy bugger" (based upon your description of the guy) is "guilty as charged". Unfortunately, you have fallen foul of a very British condition which is called "Political Correctness". Personally, I think it's a crock of shite being peddled by boorish and ill-informed politicians and beaurocrats. They don't really represent the public at large and never will due to their self-serving and loathsome behaviour. We in the UK are all trapped by the same crappy systems that exist but I don't believe that this reflects directly onto the invidual or people as a whole. There are also good things that exist within the British "system" but the bad ones are normally sufficiently bad to generate emotive responses and anger.

I'm not sure that your remark of describing immigrants as "lowlives" will go down particularly well here?

To be honest, I think that the aggregate total of your posts within this thread reflect a distain for ALL things not Australian? Maybe you just don't realise it?
