But I did enjoy the "lockdown we had to have" meme.

As much as there seem to be a lot of people pushing for everyone to take the AZ vaccination, I'm getting increasing numbers of people who I know both in Australia and elsewhere (from the Canaries to the Philippines) saying its best to hold out for non AZ. And some here in Australia are medical experts. So yeah, I don't blame people for taking whatever is available first, but I also think it's a fair call for those who take the decision to have something else ...or nothing at all - if that is the way that they feel.

Not quite, but answer that anyway, in an Australian context. Have Australian authorities, in your view, given any indication that they will allow access to a non-AZ vaccine as a second shot (or a booster, once those become a thing), after a first AZ shot?

I like my current blood thickness and why would I want to pollute this immaculate temple?

Anyone who says they would rather take their chances with COVID than a vaccine is idiotic. You disagree, that's your right. Oh and I haven't been a moderator for a long time. Do keep up. Even if I was, I'm still entitled to an opinion even if it's one you disagree with.
Let history decide.

I heard on ABC Radio this morning that AZ are being urgently contracted by the UK government for a booster shot product. But wait for it...it's directed at the "Beta" strain (formerly known as the South African variant), and not the "Kappa" (a.k.a. Indian variant) strain currently driving the Victoria lockdown.
AZ always seems to be a day late and a variant short, in terms of addressing current VIC needs.
