It's so typically human to not want someone to 'get away' with thinking they are drop dead gorgeous. But, I hate it when people are like that. So what if this girl thinks she's stunning? She may get told it all the time by some people, even if she's just a little above average. No-one knows themselves well enough to know if they are beautiful or not beautiful. They get told or not told by people and have to rely on that.
It just bothers me when people make it their mission to 'set the record straight'.
No-one calls me ugly, so I guess I'm not that.

She believes that she is treated poorly by people because of her appearance. That, although she's a good and decent woman, people (women..) do her down because they're jealous of her, not because perhaps there's something wrong with the way she treats other people or her general manner.
That's the point

I'm quite happy with the way I look-except for the ageing factor which inevitably means it's all downhill from here - becoming a wrinkly !! - I am interested though in a certain aspect of all this fuss over Ms Brick - being a single woman there have been some instances over the past few years where I have definitely detected a certain amount of being frozen out by some women- & told it's that they see single women as a threat (as in presumably they don't trust their husbands (or me!!) Anyone else had this?? it's not very nice....

I'm sure your situation is rife. We don't play games in our family - we like people for who they are, not their status.

instead.
