Are you good looking?

My OH loves me and keeps telling me I'm gorgeous, but all I see are my faults. I am that old bag lady in my head, who is flabby and fat, even though at 5'5" I am currently about 55kgs and measure 33-26-35. To me, I'll always be that fat teenager who was bullied, and now I'm an old lady to boot.
Sad I know.

I try and be beautiful on the inside..... To make up for me being not so physically attractive...
Nanny McFee had me crying... Well mumbles did... He asked whether if he was better behaved he would get better looking... His surgery and facial deformitites make him unattractive in todays beauty conscious society...
Missed me opportunity there... Could have had a little angel..... Actually **** it, i do have a little angel.. Who IS beautiful to me....

And Eddie, Mumbles may not be the socially accepted "norm", but his lovely nature will make him attractive to those who know him, and I'm sure he will find a partner to love him for who he is, not what he looks like.

My illness makes me look haggard and I cant say that I dont care because I do, hence the reason I will spend a bit on my hair and when I am in a better position financially will get some nicer clothes.
I have to care to a point as the job I do is in the public eye but whilst I care and panic with each bit my illness takes from me, my realisation that maintaining an acceptable level of health should supersede that of panicking about everything superficial that happens with my body.
Just have to keep trying to look halfway decent but some of the things that are happening to my body make me want to cry and the most recent one, is not being able to breathe without the aid of a nebulizer.

It's so typically human to not want someone to 'get away' with thinking they are drop dead gorgeous. But, I hate it when people are like that. So what if this girl thinks she's stunning? She may get told it all the time by some people, even if she's just a little above average. No-one knows themselves well enough to know if they are beautiful or not beautiful. They get told or not told by people and have to rely on that.
It just bothers me when people make it their mission to 'set the record straight'.
No-one calls me ugly, so I guess I'm not that.

Beauty starts within, then wells up as far as I am concerned. There are different levels - but natural beauty is still highly regarded and even plainness is sometimes considered superior to fake, you would hope.
