mmmm quite a few of our comms ratings end up working with the SRR and SBS so quite possible but in this case it's simply having a "home life" mobile and a "shagging (black ops)", mobile.

Admitedly most of the time they sit on their collective fat arse playing computer games :D They're even too lazy to try and pull nowadays and go straight to the nearest whorehouse  Of course when there are 4 floors of them in Singers it's a bit difficult not to

Just bought a bottle of sancerre and am sitting on the deck of the Northlink ferry from Aberdeen to the Shetlands! This isn't parole it's paradise! The only negative is the miserable thought we have to go back to jail, passing Singapore and spending way more than 200 knicker.

If we had the chance to do it all again
tell me would we? Could we?

As Barbra Streisand says, if you could do it all again......would you? Emigrate that is........

God, I can't believe some of these posts - I have frequent nightmares where I am back in England!!! Luckily have had no problems settling down at all.

A cumulative of about 33% negatives for Australia as I look at it today. Of course as with everything on here it is a reflection on BE posters rather than a true cross section of immigrants. Even so, that does surprise me too.

I'm in the yes category and join the "wish I did it earlier" camp.

Yes I would do some things differently but hindsight always arrives too late to be useful. :D

Probably as representative as you'll get for British immigrants. It was a bit of an eye opener for me too. If we accept it at face value that means that one in three of the undecideds (which I'm a part of) and yet to comes will join the 33% negative.

I'm positive I wouldn't have done it if I had read a few threads like this. As it was I had some concerns and was relying on friends that had moved down here 2 years before us to give us feed back. They were really working on us to come down and for the most part said all my concerns were baseless and that they were "living the life" Not long after we got here the truth started coming out, they hated the place. And a year and half later they pulled the pin. And for the most part all my concerns had a lot of merit but by then it was too late.

The numbers aren't a shock to me. When I meet immigrants face to face (maybe it's because for the most part am very candid and say what I really think and it gives them license to say what's on they heart... idunno...) I rarely hear someone say that they love the place. Most agree that the country is spectacular but for the most part the people and the working life leave a lot to be desired.
