Don't see a soul in a lot of burbs in the sense of walking. It does get to a lot of folk.
Not too many cosy over the fence chats,to be had these days either.

If so, you may only have to do 12 months on a PR visa before being eligible for citizenship - would that make it more attractive?

Yes, they were directly before. Makes it more a little more attractive I guess. Thanks for your help ( and to Bermuda Shorts)

If I was in the process of moving to Australia at the moment the results in this poll might be a bit of a shock to the system. Only just over the 50% mark think it was a good move. A surprisingly, at least to me, low number.

Certainly differs from previous polls on the subject, and I must admit I'm surprised, I expected more "ÿes" replies....

Are people voting one of the no options because they're thinking 'if they knew then what they know now' or yes with respect to how and why they came over? I voted yes with everything being as it was when we moved. If I was going on the way things are now with exchange rates and property prices I'd have voted no.

Probably in my first two years here I would have been a "I"m loving it" voter. It was the golden era:lol: cheap everything, Good exchange rate, like most people the money side of things made up for the crap.

Even the heat was a novelty, now I just find that a pain in the ass.

Roll on winter:thumbsup:

When was the golden era for you?
I've been here 22years and still trying to recover from our initial financial losses on arrival. It would be a "no" for me.

The only reason I voted yes even though I came back to the UK late last year due to cost of living in Australia was that I am now in a position where over the next few years I will be able to buy myself out of the cost of living issues in Australia if you cant take over a seriously large amount of money to Australia I wouldn't going.

So when you come back will you be in a position that you don't to have to worry about the cost of living or are you planing to go back and forth?

If things carry on as they are I won't need to worry about a mortgage of immense proportions. When I move back it will be for good.

Considering we migrated from Dubai, my answer would be yes, without a doubt! I'm actually glad we didn't make the move 10 years ago as originally planned and only migrated here 18 months ago.
