I am having a pretty shite morning myself and am dreaming about getting my news.

Except that I cant see the glow of the bloody visa.

When I win the lotto tomorrow, I wont do this job anymore.

I love this quote from G. K. Chesterton:

"They say that travel broadens the mind....but you've got to have the mind."

Just remember, not everyone has the mind

You also get other people. Saying " I'd love to do that?"
My answer is. "Then why not?"
Their answer . " You know how it is?"
Me.' No how is it? Are you married? Kids?
Them. Not married and no kids. Bare in mind i am talking about people my age and younger. But some do have kids are married and they still say i'd love to do that.
Well DO IT THEN!!!!
They probably will never do it. But then there are those who do and those who dont.

I'm not sure you need "positive" at the moment

Still, a little inspiration never hurt anyone....

I went throught that as well, and am sure everyone was saying (in particular one person was saying) 'shell never go', and now i know for a fact, coz a couple of peopld have told me she's going about saying 'she'll be back', so i cornered her last week and said 'just to let you know my flights are booked, and if it all goes tits up , they i'll be back, i wont be staying there just to prove you or anybody else wrong' , she had the gawl to say 'yes, yes, your quite right'

Do you have family there?
Have you got a job lined up?
Have you got somewhere to stay?
Have you ever been before?
You're very brave.
What if it doesn't work out?

Yep, we've all been there and all got sick of answering the same questions, even if it was with a smile. I had told everybody at the start of the visa process and when I eventually handed my notice in, somebody came to me and said something like "to be honest I thought you were never going to go, you've been talking about it for so long". They all think you just have the idea and then jump on the next flight Mind you, people here think much the same. Every Aussie I've told I had to put up $100k bond has stared back at me with an open mouth, incredulous.

I'm actually having the opposite reponse here at work, Most people here are saying, Can't wait till you move out we can come and vist you. So I think it depend on your friends are they its half empty or half full glass?
Just get on with it and sod the doubters, They are only saying that because they haven't got the b******x to do it themselves.
Good luck everyone and go for it!!!!!

Make sure you invite both to the airport and get BIL to bring plenty of folding stuff with him, just so you can enjoy watching him hand it over. I don't know the guy but ..... what a nob. You can really do without people like that.
